Activities:

• Develops community plans of social, economic and cultural development and arranges their fulfillment;
• Provides economic and social development, effective use of natural, labor and financial resources, controls community enterprises plans;
• Presents proposals on communal, consumer and transportation services tariffs of the communal enterprises; Provides communal property administration;
• Prepares proposals on different aspects of community economic and social development and amortization of community estate and presents them to the City Council;
• Carries out different privatization projects;
• Rules communal services and trade enterprises and provides different kinds of support to them;
• Improves forms and methods of trade, communal services of markets, mini-markets, retail network in Chernivtsi, controls their activities;
• Manages communal trade and service enterprises and assists in their development, grants permits to start trade and service, controls the arrangement of services and protection of consumer rights;
• Presents proposals on trade and service permits to the Executive Committee of the City Council and their cancellation in case of law violation.

Department implements its authorities through:

• Subdivision of Social and Economic Development

  Develops programmes of social and economic development, effective use of labour force, natural and financial resources and provides their fulfillment.

• Subdivision of Consumer Market and Tourism Development

  Manages communal trade and service enterprises and assists in the development of the enterprises of different forms of ownership, grants permits to start trade and service, controls the arrangement of service and protection of consumer rights.

• Subdivision of Property Registration, Use and Privatization

  Provides management and control of the communal property, carries out the authorities of communal property lease, alienation and privatization.
